Here's How You Pronounce "Gib" Correctly, According To Doom Guy John Romero
According to the dictionary, the word "gib" is a delightful piece of gamer slang short for "giblets" and used when you've blown someone into a bloody pile of meat and organs. And according to John Romero, the legendary developer behind Doom, a lot of you have also been incorrectly pronouncing it, as a lot of people tend to use a hard "G" when saying the word.
As someone who helped lead the charge in creating video games where enemies would regularly explode into a chunky soup of blood and guts, Romero was asked for his expertise on how the world should be pronounced.
