Olympians among entrants at Edinburgh meet - watch on BBC
Edinburgh International Swim Meet
Venue: Royal Commonwealth Pool, Edinburgh Date: Friday, 3 March- Sun, 5 March
Coverage: Live on BBC Sport website, app & iPlayer
A number of the swimmers who starred for Team GB at last Summer's Olympic Games in Paris will be in the pool in Scotland over the coming days at the Edinburgh International Swim Meet.
The three-day event, which starts on Friday, has attracted a star-studded line up.
For those taking to the water at the Royal Commonwealth Pool, it is a chance to fine tune things ahead of next month's Aquatics GB Championships – which double as a trial for this Summer's World Championships in Singapore.
Scottish Swimming national coach Ian Wright said: "It does attract a lot of foreign interest, particularly throughout Europe, and almost all of the best British swimmers will be racing, your Olympic swimmers and those who are aspiring to make the World Championships."
A number of Scottish swimmers will be aiming to impress, with Duncan Scott topping of the bill.
He became Scotland's most decorated Olympian last summer, taking his tally to eight medals, after winning a gold and a silver in Paris.
Lucy Hope, Katie Shanahan, Kathleen Dawson and Angharad Dawson – who also took to the pool in France – will be among the home hopes in Edinburgh.
Team GB Olympic medallists – James Guy, Matt Richards, Tom Dean and Ben Proud are also in the field.
"It is really the final preparation opportunity before the trials, so this meet tends to be a really good testing ground for swimmers and their coaches to assess how far they are along in their preparation," Wright said.
Daniel Wiffen – the Olympic gold and bronze medallist from County Armagh – is another one of the big names competing.
"Eyes are definitely on him and he usually swims pretty well all the time, so it will be interesting to see what form he is in," Wright added.
