NewsNation adds to programming lineup as it expands to 24/7
Cable news channel NewsNation is adding to its lineup of programming as it expands its coverage to become a 24-hour network.
Beginning June 1, the network said it will launch the final portion of its live news lineup with the early evening edition of "NewsNation Now" with Adrienne Bankert on Saturdays and Sundays from 4-7 p.m.
NewsNation is owned by Nexstar Media Group, which also owns The Hill.
The channel recently launched weekend editions of "Morning in America" with Hena Doba, airing from 7-10 a.m. and "NewsNation Live," airing from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. "NewsNation Now" with Anna Kooiman airs from 1-4 p.m.
The network in the spring launched a Sunday public affairs program called "The Hill Sunday" with host Chris Stirewalt.
The network also announced three new hires as part of the expansion announcement.
Kooiman joined NewsNation in March as anchor of the weekend edition of "NewsNation Now." Laura Ingle has been named senior correspondent, covering breaking news and general assignment stories and contributing to enterprise reporting on true crime cases, and Alicia Nieves will serve as a New York-based correspondent.
“We are immensely proud to announce that NewsNation is now a 24/7 cable news network," said Sean Compton, president of Nexstar’s networks division. "This milestone marks the culmination of our efforts to continue expanding and growing the network since launching it in 2020. It reaffirms our commitment to delivering unbiased news coverage, a mission that resonates deeply with our viewers, fostering their trust in the brand, and strengthening their loyalty to NewsNation."
